Lauren Looks Back

On Sunday, December 9, (a day before The Hills season finale, which will be on Monday, December 10) MTV will be airing a special, The Hills: Lauren Looks Back, from 12-2pm.    According to MTV, “The 2-hour special is a video scrapbook of Lauren coming-of-age. Featuring footage from both hit series, Laguna Beach and The Hills, Lauren narrates her story, reflecting on her wistful, yet complicated romance with Stephen Colletti, her tumultuous relationship with Jason Wahler and her present-day dizzying flirtations with Brody Jenner.”

Jason Wahler Gets Out Of Jail

Jason Wahler was released from Seattle jail on Tuesday, November 13, after serving 20 days (out of a 30 day sentence) for an assault-related arrest in April, which, according to reports, involved roughing up a hotel security guard. His time was served and Jason Wahler is now a free man.

Lauren's Side

Wait, is she serious? That's the reason why she's convinced it was Heidi and Spencer? Dude, I don't buy it anymore. Not after Heidi explained herself in the interview below. & not after, before Lauren even accused them, Spencer and Heidi said that they'd heard the rumors and and didn't believe them.

A Different Side To Heidi & Spencer

I just came across this. The interview was originally published in TeamSugar on April 12, 2007, when the sex-tape rumors about Lauren were 1st going around. I don't know if many people have seen this, but it certainely paints a different picture of Spencer and Heidi. The highlighted part made me think again.

For months, I have written some not so nice things about The Hills star, Spencer Pratt. In fact, should you choose to Google his name, this very site is the number two search result (it was number one prior to the interview, but Radar beat me since… damn) and it’s not because I’ve been repeatedly singing his praises. But I decided to put my preconceived notions behind me and see if I could wrangle an interview with Spencer himself. And I did. I had the pleasure of not only speaking with Spencer, but chatting with Heidi as well. That’s right- I said pleasure. They were both gracious, fun and very eager to tell their side of the story.
We chatted casually about their life together, Heidi’s friendship with Lauren Conrad and what you didn’t see on The Hills.
MTV Reality World: People have pretty strong opinions and perceptions about the way you are both portrayed on TV. How accurate do you think that portrayal is and what do you think is the biggest misconception that viewers have?
Heidi: People don’t know every side. It’s a reality show of several people’s lives. It’s accurate of who we are, but sometimes the situations can be misconstrued. It is 20 minute edited drama. They can’t show everything.
Spencer: Heidi and I had just started hanging out when the show started taping and we really liked each other, but suddenly I was considered her boyfriend. We were flirting all the time, following the rules of being single. We were both seeing other people at the same time. We were both players- she was playing the game with me. Heidi has game! She changed her phone number on me 3 times during the show. Reality TV doesn’t follow us 24 hours a day. It’s in pieces that they put together to make a show. The bottom line is I was not doing that stuff to my girlfriend. We were seeing each other and other people.
Heidi: One of the first nights I saw him at Area he came with Audrina and I hadn’t talked to her all summer. I was so mad that she showed up with him. I really liked him that summer…
Spencer: I did show up with Audrina because Heidi changed her phone number on me!
Heidi: When we talk about being players, we mean we’re light and fun and we don’t get mad about not texting each other back and things like that. We like funny shenanigans. In the beginnings of everyone relationship, there’s a lot of kinks. We just happened to go through it on camera with a lot of that being shown. Everyone calls us a married couple because we are always together.
MTV Reality World: What did MTV edit out of the show that you wish everyone had seen?
Heidi: I wish they would have shown more of how Spencer and I are together. We’re fun. We laugh all the time. We’re always doing things together. We don’t fight a lot. We have our ups and downs like every couple, but most of all, our relationship is close to perfect.
MTV Reality World: Heidi, where do you and Lauren stand today? Still friends?
Heidi: Lauren and I are friends, we just don’t see each other a lot. We both have separate lives, me living with Spencer and her living with Audrina. We’re both trying to work on our friendship.
MTV Reality World: What is the status with you and Audrina? Still friends?
Heidi: I really like Audrina. She’s better friends with Lauren since they live together. I really love Whitney. I love all the girls. Whitney and I hang out sometimes because our boyfriends are friends.
MTV Reality World: The big question – is The Hills coming back for season 3 and, if so, what can we look forward to seeing?
Heidi: We are doing a season 3 and it will show Spencer and I living together - the things that couples go through right when they first move in. They go through fights – the toilet seat being left up and stuff like that. It will show all of the girls at our jobs. It’s going to show me working on my album with David Foster too.
MTV Reality World: Heidi, tell me more about your upcoming album.
Heidi: I’m working with David Foster with 143 Records under Warner. The album will be out hopefully in September. It’s very pop - hot, fun fresh, young, and sexy. It’s gonna be a lot of entertainment – a lot of dancing similar to the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears.
MTV Reality World: Spencer, I take you to be a wheeling and dealing kind of guy. What projects do you have in the works?
Spencer: My new plan to keep everything secret like a ninja. Too many ideas are taken from me. I wouldn’t even know where to start with that one. My hustle is just too crazy. I’m trying to take over the world.
MTV Reality World: Let’s talk about your relationship. We all have a very skewed idea of what life is like for you both. How are you like every other couple in America and how are you different? What does an average day consist of for you guys?
Heidi: I love talking about this! We’re getting ready right now to get into our new apartment. I think we’re better than the average couple in America - our brains work the same way. We like to be happy have fun. I never knew I could be so in love or so happy. I never knew… We have so much fun together. We’re inseparable. We’re always laughing and having a good time.
MTV Reality World: What’s in the future for you guys?
Heidi: I’m never letting this one go!
Spencer: The bottom line about me wanting to move in with her is that I haven’t left this girl’s side since I met her. I’m obsessed with her. Everyone says I can’t get into the clubs anymore, but the truth is I don’t go to clubs anymore because I like to cuddle up in bed with my girlfriend with some DVDs.
Heidi: I wouldn’t want to go to clubs anymore. I have so much more fun watching DVDs with Spencer and cuddling.
MTV Reality World: I understand you have some blogs coming out. What can we look forward to seeing there?
Spencer: Well, I want to start to have our side of the story come out. I want to get a blog so people can know what’s going on with Spencer on the daily. Lauren narrates The Hills. Spencer is going to narrate his blog. Imagine if Spencer narrated The Hills… It’s how you skew it. If I’m the narrator, wait to see how much people love Spencer.
MTV Reality World: How has the show changed your lives?
Heidi: People recognize us when we go out.
Spencer: They notice us for being in love… I’ve never been this in love in my whole life. Heidi is the sexiest girl I’ve ever met. I wouldn’t leave Heidi for those Playboy bunnies. I wouldn’t leave Heidi for the Playboy mansion!
MTV Reality World: Ok, I’m going to get personal for a minute… Heidi, there are rumors all over the internet that you had a breast augmentation last week. Do you want to comment on that?
Heidi: No comment.
MTV Reality World: This week, the latest rumor on the web is that Lauren and Jason filmed a sex tape that Jason was trying to sell. Is there anything that you guys want to say about that?
Spencer: We heard the tape does not exist and we’re here for Lauren and we feel bad that these rumors are going on.
MTV Reality World: Ok, I’m opening up the floor. Here’s your chance to say whatever you want to the fans.
Spencer: People need to realize that you can’t judge someone just from what you see on TV.
Heidi: People need to realize that we’re in the entertainment industry, period.
MTV Reality World: Anything else?
Spencer: I think we should end it with Heidi is the cutest girl in the world. The end.

We all know what LC, Lo and Jason are up to via The Hills, but ever wonder what happened to Kristin?

Here are some recent pics of her and her boyfriend, Nick Zano (? never heard of him). I'm surprised I haven't seen much of her since Laguna. Of all the kids on that show, I thought she had the most "star" potential. I know most people don't take her seriously, but she had a certain charisma about her, in my opinion.

I think I'm onto something here. Could this be the latest trend (besides rehab) for the young Hollywood elite?





Ok, I live in the City, & I've definitely taken some fucked up photos, but holding knives to my friend's throat? Ok, ok, so maybe Lohan and her friend were just fucking around. But nothing could excuse Jason Wahler's photo--Russian Roulette, apparently, there was 1 bullet in the gun. (See Hollywood Gossip for more details.) Reminds me of that game they played in 187, Dearhunter. In fact, it is that game.

About That Sex Tape...

Jason Wahler talks to Perez Hilton about it. I think Spencer and Heidi are definitely the ones who spread the rumors, because Jason said that Spencer mentioned it on his web site. They give more details on what a sketchball he is, something about stealing photos...watch.

The Truth About Laguna Beach

You want the real reality of what happened that night in Cabo, when Alex M. confronted Jessica about Jason? Hint...It was more then just a kiss. Ok, so this goes waaay back to Season 2, but, according to an inside source, "Before Cabo they showed Jessica meeting Jason at the golf course. They hung out all day and later that night they went to a party at Talan's house. Talan was trying to pull a fast one and not invite the MTV producers to the party. At the party (while Jason is supposedly still dating Alex M) one of Alex M's friends walked in on Jessica giving Jason head in the bathroom. The friend that walked in immediately called Alex M and tell her. Alex M and Taylor jump into Taylor's car to go kick Jessica's ass but get pulled over by the cops [on the way]. Instead of playing it cool, Taylor throws the fake id she has in her wallet into the back seat. The cops get suspicious and ask her what it was, do a search of the car, find the fake id, interrogate Alex M and get her to admit she has a fake id too. Cuff both of them and take them down to the station where MTV has to bail them out. So in one night, Alex M found out that her boyfriendis a cheater and gets arrested." Not to mention loses her fake ID. Anyway, when Alex first found out about Jason, she happened to be at dinner with Kristin and Alex H. (as shown on MTV), and Alex M. tells them that Jason and Jessica hooked up. So, the next day, Kristin and Alex H. ask Jess about it and, as we see, she denies it. However, they later find out it's true, which is why they are not speaking to her on the trip to Cabo.



According to the source, other random Laguna Beach gossip includes:
-Laguna Beach is real, as in not scripted, but many of the situations are re-enacted or set up.

-Casey's step-dad created the frozen burrito.

-Deter is a camera whore. Anytime the producers put together a scene hetries to tag along to get face time.*

-MTV is hated around Laguna Beach. People that are not on the show are always throwing beer cans and stuff at the cameras.*

Ok, I'd like to add to this, actually, with my own personal knowledge. I've read on more then a few websites that Jason has been in and out of rehab more then a few times (hence why we didn't see him on the 1st season) and has a history of becoming violent-drunk. At one point, he apparently smashed Alex M's head into a wall, which may explain why, in one of the later episodes of Season 2, Alex M shows up @ LC's party, sees Jason and quickly leaves. He also does coke (duh) and LC's done it with him before (that's no surprise, though).


& with regards to Laguna Beach not being scriped, but scenes being set up, I read something on that, too. Jason admits Jessica was fake, and that they had really broken up a few weeks before that.

Everything You Wanted to Know About Laguna Beach but Were Afraid to Ask


It Is Real...Kinda, Sorta: This "dramality" is real in the sense that the these are actual high school students and what we see is actually happening in their lives. What's not so real, according to show insiders, is how, where and when these things go down. Believe it or not, the castmembers only "work" Thursday through Sunday (How do I get on this show?), so important "scenes" are often delayed and then set up by producers to make sure they're caught on film.

A few key examples: The now infamous bonfire scene where Jessica first sees Alex M. and Jason together was completely orchestrated by producers. Before the bonfire, the crew spent hours lighting the beach and the mountains in the background before the kids were allowed to interact with each other. When Jason finally arrived, they told him how to enter the scene and where to go. Similarly, the big confrontation in Cabo between Jessica and Alex M. was specifically planned for that night. Producers saw the situation and knew Alex M. would confront Jessica, so they instructed her not to go off on her "man-stealing slut"/calling-the-kettle-black tirade until the cameras were ready.

There's a Reason They Giggle: My spies tell me most of the scenes with the guys or girls talking about a specific dishy subject (like Kristin telling Alex H. how she makes guys like Talan fall in love with her; or Alex M. and Taylor bitching about Kacy; and again, not that I watch this show) are coached by producers. They light the scene, get the cameras rolling, then say, "Talk about why Alex is so mad at you" or "Talk about why Kristin is such a bitch."

This off-camera coaching is actually the reason we often see castmembers laughing when they talk about serious situations. (Kristin, in particular, does it a lot.) They've just been instructed on what to talk about, and it just feels...odd.

The Castmembers Are Bona Fide Celebrities: If the picture at right is any indication, these kids have become big-time A-listers on the Hollywood party circuit. Just ask our Party Girl, they're always on the list. Not only are the LB kids hangin' with Paris and Nicole and Lindsay these days, they can go anywhere and everywhere they want, no matter their age and how many people they bring, and, of course, it's all free.

Most of the castmembers are now living in L.A., partying and pursuing Hollywood dreams with their managers, agents and publicists. While Alex M. is meeting this very week with a few record companies, including Atlantic Records, the rest are trying to become actors, including Kristin,who told me at a recent Us Weekly party, "I wanna do movies. It's been going pretty well. I'm reading some scripts right now and taking acting classes, so it's in the process."

[Dishy side note: Kristin is repped by the same publicist as Lindsay Lohan, and my sources tell me the story Kristin told Rolling Stone--about Lindsay flipping out when she saw Kristin in Talan's bed--is 100 percent true. It happened last spring, so these kids have been mixing with the Hollywood crowd for a long time now.]

All this Hollywood hoopla hasn't exactly been welcomed by the producers, who have fought tooth and nail--with increased pay and exclusivity contracts--to keep these regular kids from becoming stars, since it ruins the original concept of the show. And now they have a serious dilemma on their hands because...

They Are Planning a Third Season: Show insiders tell me producers are currently negotiating their individual contracts for season three and have to figure out how to shoot another season, given that their current cast have all graduated and are bed-hopping their way into Us Weekly. I'm told they're toying with the idea of introducing a few new kids that are seniors this year (they're casting now), but ultimately, the show will focus on the current cast, living in Los Angeles, and will pop back into Laguna from time to time. They'll try to focus on the drama that doesn't involve Hollywood or Lindsay or Paris. So, expect a lot of teeth brushing and butt scratching.

There Are Storylines You Don't See: Even though we've never seen it on the show, Stephen and Jason are actually good friends. So much so that Stephen is perfectly fine with the fact that Jason and Stephen's former flame LC have been getting, um, cozy, from time to time (I'm guessing because he still has the hots for Kristin).

The Kids Aren't as Wealthy as They're Made Out to Be: Word is, one of the castmembers actually lives in a trailer park, and most of the castmembers live fairly middle-income existences (at least by O.C. standards). That said, LC and Kristin are seriously loaded. So loaded, in fact, that according to my spies, they're somewhat competitive--when LC's family built that humongous house overlooking the Pacific, Kristin's family felt the need to follow suit.*
